Jaishankar thanks Netherlands for Pahalgam attack condemnation

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar, during his six-day visit to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany, met with Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp in The Hague on Monday.

Jaishankar expressed his gratitude for the Netherlands’ strong condemnation of the recent Pahalgam attack, thanking Veldkamp for the country’s support in the fight against terrorism. “Appreciate Netherlands’ strong condemnation of the Pahalgam attack. And support for zero tolerance against terrorism,” Jaishankar posted on X after the meeting.

The two leaders discussed deepening the bilateral partnership between India and the Netherlands, as well as their engagement with the European Union. Jaishankar also emphasized the importance of working together in a multipolar world, exchanging views on global affairs.

In addition to the foreign minister, Jaishankar met with strategic experts to discuss further cooperation between India and the Netherlands. “A good exchange of views with strategic experts in The Hague this morning. Discussed why India and the Netherlands/EU should engage more deeply in an era of multipolarity and strategic autonomy,” Jaishankar shared on X.

Earlier, Jaishankar was welcomed by Indian Ambassador to the Netherlands Kumar Tuhin and Gabriella Sancisi, Director of Protocol and Host Country Affairs at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), this visit is part of India’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen strategic ties with key European partners, focusing on trade, investment, regional, and global issues.

Jaishankar’s visit comes at a time when India is enhancing its engagement with Europe, emphasizing areas such as trade, digital cooperation, climate action, and shared security concerns.
