
Jaishankar meets UK PM Keir Starmer, discusses trade and Ukraine
External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street during his official visit to London. He conveyed warm greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.
Jaishankar shared on X, “Delighted to call on Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer at @10DowningStreet today. Conveyed the warm greetings of PM @narendramodi. Discussed taking forward our bilateral economic cooperation and enhancing people-to-people exchanges. PM Starmer also shared the UK’s perspective on the Ukraine conflict.”
During his visit, Jaishankar also held talks with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, and Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds. Discussions covered trade, security, immigration, and tackling extremism.
Jaishankar will visit Ireland on March 6-7 to meet his Irish counterpart Simon Harris and other dignitaries. His visit aims to bolster India’s ties with both the UK and Ireland.
