Khamenei Calls Iran’s Attack on Israel “Legal and Legitimate”

In a sermon at Tehran’s Grand Mosalla Mosque, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised the recent Iranian attack on Israel, describing it as “completely legal and legitimate.”

Speaking in Arabic to convey his message to the broader Islamic world, particularly Lebanon and Palestine, Khamenei addressed thousands gathered for the commemoration of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in Israeli airstrikes last week.

“The brilliant work of our armed forces two or three nights ago was completely legal and legitimate,” Khamenei declared, alongside Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and other attendees.

Khamenei emphasized that “the enemy of Iran is the enemy of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, and Iraq,” asserting a unified struggle across the region. He honored Nasrallah, calling him an “admired personality” and a “shining jewel” of Lebanon, and urged Hezbollah’s youth to continue his legacy.

He also stated that the ongoing issues in West Asia stem from the presence of the United States and certain European nations in the region. Abbas Nilforoushan, a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was among those killed in the Israeli attacks on Beirut.
