Musk Claims Evidence Shows Brazil’s ‘Fake Judge’ Deliberately Interfered in Election

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has accused Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes of being a “fake judge” and claimed that evidence is mounting to show that de Moraes deliberately interfered in Brazil’s recent election.

Musk’s remarks came after de Moraes ordered a nationwide ban on Musk’s social media platform X, following the company’s refusal to appoint a legal representative in Brazil.

In a post on X, Musk stated, “There is growing evidence that fake judge Alexandre engaged in serious, repeated, and deliberate election interference in Brazil’s last presidential election.” He suggested that former Twitter employees might have been complicit in this interference and called for anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Under Brazilian law, such actions could lead to up to 20 years in prison. Musk urged individuals with examples or evidence to respond to his post.

Brazil is a major market for X, with over 22 million users. The platform has been at odds with de Moraes for months due to its non-compliance with court orders to remove accounts that promote coup-related content or undermine democracy, according to Xinhua news agency.

Musk also warned investors about Brazil, stating, “The oppressive regime in Brazil is so afraid of the people learning the truth that they will bankrupt anyone who tries.”

The Brazilian Supreme Federal Court has imposed fines of 18 million reais (about $3.2 million) on X for non-compliance. De Moraes has accused X of aiding “extremist groups and digital militias” and enabling the spread of harmful speech, particularly ahead of upcoming elections.

Additionally, de Moraes has instructed Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) to block access to X within 24 hours and has given Apple and Google five days to remove the X app from their stores.
