PM to Launch Multiple Development Projects in Maharashtra Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch several development projects worth over ₹7,600 crore in Maharashtra via video conferencing on Wednesday.

Among the key projects, he will lay the foundation stone for the upgrade of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, with an estimated cost of around ₹7,000 crore. This project aims to boost growth in manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics, and healthcare, benefiting Nagpur and the wider Vidarbha region.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport, designed at a cost of ₹645 crore. This terminal will offer world-class facilities for religious tourists, with its design inspired by the spiritual neem tree associated with Sai Baba.

In a commitment to affordable healthcare, Modi will operationalize ten government medical colleges across locations including Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, and more. These institutions will increase undergraduate and postgraduate seats while providing specialized tertiary healthcare.

Furthering his vision of India as the “Skill Capital of the World,” the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai. Established through a Public-Private Partnership, this institute, in collaboration with the Tata Education and Development Trust, aims to equip an industry-ready workforce with cutting-edge technology and practical training in fields like mechatronics, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

Additionally, Modi will launch the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), which will offer students, teachers, and administrators access to essential academic and administrative data through live chatbots. This initiative aims to enhance resource management in schools, strengthen parent-state connections, and provide valuable instructional resources to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
