Putin praises India’s success and strategic partnership inIndependence Day messages
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised India’s “widely-recognized track record of success” in a message to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India’s Independence Day. He emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Russia and India.
Putin highlighted India’s achievements over its 77 years as an independent nation, noting its success in social, economic, scientific, and technical fields, as well as its growing international prestige.
“We attach great importance to our privileged strategic partnership with India, and I am confident that our continued collaboration will expand our multifaceted cooperation and contribute to global stability and security,” he stated.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also praised the longstanding relationship between the two nations, describing it as one of equality, mutual respect, and trust. It acknowledged India’s “well-deserved authority” on the global stage and its major role in international affairs. The Ministry highlighted the ongoing political dialogue and efforts to enhance cooperation in various areas, including trade, economics, and cultural exchanges.
In its Independence Day message, the Foreign Ministry reflected on India’s struggle against British colonial rule and its subsequent achievements in economic, scientific, and social fields. It noted the historical contributions of the USSR to India’s industrialization and development.
“Today, our relationship is defined as a special and privileged strategic partnership,” the Ministry said, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening ties and improving cooperation in multiple sectors.
