Trump blames Democrats for intelligence leak on Iran strike fallout

US President Donald Trump on Friday accused the Democratic Party of leaking a classified intelligence report that questioned his administration’s claims about the effectiveness of recent airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

In a fiery post on Truth Social, Trump alleged, “The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the Nuclear Sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!”

This accusation follows media reports by CNN and The New York Times, citing a preliminary US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) assessment which suggested the strikes only temporarily delayed Iran’s nuclear program. According to the report, most of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile had already been relocated before the strike.

Trump, slamming the coverage, wrote: “Fake news CNN, together with the failing New York Times, have teamed up in an attempt to demean one of the most successful military strikes in history.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed Trump’s concerns, warning that those responsible for leaking classified assessments must be held accountable. “We need to strengthen the process to protect national security and the American public,” she said.

Adding a new twist, CIA Director John Ratcliffe claimed the agency had gathered “credible evidence” showing Iran’s nuclear infrastructure had suffered significant damage. He cited a “historically reliable” source, saying several major facilities were destroyed and would take years to rebuild.

Ratcliffe’s statement appeared to contradict the DIA’s earlier findings, adding to the growing debate over the true impact of the June 21 US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites at Natanz, Fordow, and Esfahan.

As Washington scrambles to control the narrative, the clash over intelligence leaks and national security continues to escalate.
