US strikes over 5,500 targets in Iran, destroys more than 60 ships in Operation Epic Fury

United States forces have struck more than 5,500 targets across Iran and destroyed over 60 ships since the launch of Operation Epic Fury, according to the top American commander overseeing the military campaign.

Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of the United States Central Command, said the operation is intensifying as US forces continue to target Iranian military infrastructure across multiple domains.

“In short, US forces continue delivering devastating combat power against the Iranian regime,” Cooper said while providing an update on the ongoing operation.

According to the commander, the campaign has involved thousands of precision strikes aimed at weakening Iran’s missile systems, drone infrastructure, naval forces, and defense industrial network.

“To date, we have struck more than 5,500 targets inside Iran, including more than 60 ships, using a variety of precision weapon systems,” Cooper said.

The targets include facilities connected to Iran’s ballistic missile and drone programs as well as naval assets believed to pose threats to regional maritime routes.

“Every day, we’re striking hard at Iranian ballistic missiles and drones,” Cooper said, explaining that the campaign is designed both to neutralize immediate threats and to limit Iran’s ability to launch future attacks.

The US military also conducted strikes on key production facilities linked to missile manufacturing.

“Just last night, our bomber force hit a large ballistic missile manufacturing facility,” Cooper said, adding that Iranian missile and drone attacks have sharply declined since the first day of the campaign.

Naval operations have also played a significant role in the military effort. Cooper confirmed that US forces recently destroyed the last remaining Soleimani-class warships operated by Iran.

“We took out the last of four Soleimani-class warships. That’s an entire class of Iranian ships now out of the fight,” he said.

Air operations have involved waves of advanced fighter jets and bombers conducting continuous strikes from multiple operational bases.

“From the air, we’ve achieved a concentration of air power with back-to-back waves of advanced fighters creating constant pressure on the enemy every single day,” Cooper explained.

The operation has also incorporated advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence systems designed to process battlefield information rapidly.

“Our warfighters are leveraging advanced AI tools that allow commanders to analyze vast amounts of data in seconds,” Cooper said.

However, he emphasized that final targeting decisions remain under human control.

“Humans will always make the final decisions on what to shoot and when,” he noted.

Cooper also highlighted the role of international partnerships in the campaign.

“Our dominance is not a solo effort. It reflects the strength of our alliances,” he said, noting close coordination with Israel and other regional partners.

Despite the reported progress, the commander said US forces remain on high alert as tensions continue across the Middle East.

Operation Epic Fury is part of a broader US strategy aimed at weakening Iran’s missile, drone, and naval capabilities amid escalating regional conflict.
