The U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities have sparked widespread global concern, with leaders across continents calling for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to avoid further escalation in the Middle East.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer supported the U.S. action, calling Iran’s nuclear ambitions a “grave threat to international security” and urging Tehran to return to the negotiating table. Former UK PM Rishi Sunak echoed this sentiment, backing U.S. and Israeli efforts to counter the threat.

UK Defence Secretary John Healey clarified that Britain was not part of the operation but had boosted force protection and deployed additional jets to ensure the safety of UK personnel.

Saudi Arabia expressed “great concern” over the strikes, urging global powers to pursue de-escalation and a political solution. Australia, which recently evacuated its embassy in Tehran, reaffirmed its preference for diplomacy and highlighted the region’s volatile security situation.

Qatar warned that the escalation could have “catastrophic consequences,” while Oman strongly condemned the U.S. strikes, calling them a violation of international law and the UN Charter. Oman also reaffirmed its support for peaceful nuclear development under international oversight.

Ireland’s Deputy PM Simon Harris warned of a dangerous spiral of conflict, advocating for a negotiated solution. Leaders from Latvia and Belgium also emphasized the need for restraint and diplomacy, stressing that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons.

As tensions continue to rise, the international community remains united in urging all sides to step back from the brink and resume diplomatic engagement to avoid a broader regional conflict.
