Chicago Indian Fashion Week to debut October 10
By: Dr Avi Verma
Indian fashion, art and culture will take center stage in Chicago on Oct. 10 with the inaugural Chicago Indian Fashion Week (CIFW) at The RIVVY Hotel in downtown Chicago.
Presented by Chicago Indian Arts, the event will bring designers, artists, models, cultural voices and sustainability advocates together for an evening that organizers say will explore the intersection of Indian heritage and contemporary creativity.
IndoUS Tribune and Jagran TV Chicago are proud media partners for the inaugural event.
The theme, “The Home and the World — ঘরে বাইরে,” is inspired by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and his writings on identity, belonging and the relationship between home and the wider world.
“Chicago is one of the world’s great multicultural cities, yet the extraordinary depth of Indian fashion, craftsmanship, couture and creative expression deserves an even larger platform here,” said Jigar Shah, founder of Chicago Indian Arts. “Chicago Indian Fashion Week is about creating that platform — not simply to showcase beautiful clothing, but to tell stories about where we come from, how culture evolves, and how Indian creativity belongs in the global fashion conversation.”

The runway will feature collections from The Saree Room, Priya Chhabria, Fabric da Vinci, Rupali Shete, Prive Couture and Accessorize.
