Indian consulate in Chicago supports global showcase of Indian cinema at MSPIFF45

The Consulate General of India, Chicago has extended its support to the 45th edition of the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival, reinforcing cultural ties and promoting Indian storytelling on a global stage.

Running from April 8 to April 19, 2026, MSPIFF45 marks a major milestone as one of the largest and longest-running international film festivals in the region. This year’s festival features more than 200 films from around the world, along with panel discussions, filmmaker interactions, and special events.

As part of its cultural outreach, the Indian Consulate’s support has helped spotlight eight films centered on India and the Indian diaspora, offering narratives that reflect the country’s diversity, heritage, and evolving global identity.

In a statement, the Consulate expressed appreciation to festival organizers for curating a platform that fosters cross-cultural dialogue and artistic exchange. Officials said cinema remains a powerful medium to connect communities and deepen mutual understanding.
