Shree Radhey Shyam Temple to host Chandi Mahayagna and Mata Ki Chowki in Bloomingdale

The Hindu community of the greater Chicago area is preparing for a day and evening of devotion, spiritual reflection, and worship as Shree Radhey Shyam Temple in Bloomingdale, Illinois, hosts a special Chandi Mahayagna followed by a grand Mata Ki Chowki on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

The religious celebrations will begin with the Chandi Mahayagna at 12:00 noon and continue until 5:00 p.m. Devotees will gather to participate in the sacred Vedic rituals and prayers dedicated to Maa Durga, seeking divine blessings for peace, prosperity, protection, and spiritual well-being.

Following the Mahayagna, the temple will host a devotional Mata Ki Chowki beginning at 7:00 p.m. The evening program will feature bhajans, devotional singing, and prayers in praise of the Divine Mother and is expected to continue until after midnight. Community members from across the Chicagoland area are expected to attend the spiritual gathering.

Located at 245 S. Bloomingdale Road, Bloomingdale, Illinois, Shree Radhey Shyam Temple has become an important center for Hindu religious, cultural, and community activities. The temple serves devotees from diverse backgrounds and offers regular opportunities for worship, spiritual learning, and fellowship.

In addition to special events and festivals throughout the year, the temple hosts a weekly Sunday congregation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring a variety of devotional and cultural programs. Another unique aspect of the temple’s outreach is its support of the Nepali Hindu community through a special Nepali program held on the first Saturday of each month, further strengthening cultural and spiritual ties within the broader Hindu community.
