The unveiling ceremony saw participation from several regional leaders and community representatives, reflecting strong local and diaspora engagement. Civic leaders from neighboring cities and members of Indian American organizations also attended the event.

Officials noted that the installation symbolizes Seattle’s inclusive and multicultural identity while strengthening cultural ties between India and the Pacific Northwest. The monument is a gift from the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, as part of India’s broader cultural diplomacy efforts aimed at fostering people-to-people connections.

The unveiling coincided with the celebration of ICCR Day, highlighting the organization’s role in promoting cultural exchange globally.

Naresh Kumar Kumawat, the artist behind the statue, is known for creating hundreds of installations worldwide that showcase India’s cultural heritage.
