The Telugu Association of Greater Chicago (TAGC) celebrated International Women’s Day with a vibrant and immersive event in March 2026, bringing together more than 400 women from across Chicagoland at the Pearl Banquets and Conference Center in Hoffman Estates.

Designed as an experiential celebration focused on empowerment, creativity, and community bonding, the venue was transformed into an elegant space honoring the spirit of womanhood.

A key highlight of the event was a “Sip & Paint” session with a creative twist, where participants used coffee powder instead of traditional paints. Guided by artist Ramya Roddom, the activity offered a unique artistic experience that was widely appreciated.

The celebration also featured interactive segments including a derby-style game experience, a ball dance session, a Fashionista Online challenge, and a Netflix-themed group activity, all designed to encourage engagement and friendly competition.

Décor curated by Signature Events by Prasuna created a refined high-tea-inspired ambiance, while refreshments sponsored by Saffron Spoon added to the festive atmosphere.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was a group performance by the Women’s Day core team and TAGC lady Board of Directors, which received enthusiastic applause from attendees.

A raffle supported by Skanda Jewels, DekaLash Hoffman Estates, and Isha Jewellery added excitement to the evening, with proceeds pledged toward supporting victims of domestic violence, reinforcing the event’s social purpose.

The event was chaired by Swetha Chinnari, with organizing support from Nishigandha Geebu, Shubha Kirani, and Ramya Dachepalli. It was held under the leadership of TAGC President Archana Podduturi and the Board of Directors.

Swetha Chinnari said the aim was to create a space where women could connect, express themselves, and celebrate one another, noting that the strong participation reflected the unity and strength of the community.

The celebration reaffirmed TAGC’s ongoing mission to honor women, foster connection, and support meaningful social causes.
