
Mauritius ministers thank PM Modi for visit, strengthen ties
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed a community programme in Port Louis during his visit to Mauritius at the invitation of the country’s Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.
PM Modi highlighted the strong cultural ties between India and Mauritius, emphasizing the deep-rooted connection reflected in the warmth of the Indian diaspora in the Indian Ocean archipelago.
“Our forefathers were brought here from various regions of India. When we consider the diversity in language, dialects, and eating habits, this place truly represents a mini-Hindustan — a miniature India!” PM Modi said.
Mauritian ministers praise PM Modi’s visit
Several Mauritian ministers and members of the Indian diaspora expressed gratitude for PM Modi’s visit and the strengthening of bilateral relations:

“The relationship between Mauritius and India is like a blood relationship. Prime Minister Modi has come to visit his family in Mauritius. Despite his busy schedule, it’s an honour that he took time to be with us on our Independence Day.”
