PM Modi to embark on two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha starting today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Andhra Pradesh and Odisha for a two-day tour beginning on January 8. The visit will focus on sustainable development, industrial growth, and infrastructure improvement.
On January 8, at 5:30 p.m., PM Modi will dedicate, inaugurate, and lay the foundation for projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam. He will also inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention in Bhubaneswar on January 9 at 10 a.m.
As part of his commitment to green energy, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub Project in Pudimadaka, Visakhapatnam, which is India’s first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This Rs 1,85,000 crore investment will include 20 GW renewable energy capacities, making it one of India’s largest green hydrogen production facilities. It aims to produce 1,500 TPD Green Hydrogen and derivatives like Green Methanol, Green Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel, targeting export markets.
Additionally, PM Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation for railway and road projects worth over Rs 19,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh, including the foundation stone for the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam. These projects aim to reduce congestion, improve connectivity, and boost regional growth.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for the Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli, which will create thousands of jobs and accelerate economic growth. It is strategically located near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical, and Petrochemical Investment Region.
In the Tirupati district, he will lay the foundation for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City), a greenfield smart city project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. This project is expected to attract Rs 10,500 crore in investments and generate around one lakh jobs.
On January 9, PM Modi will inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Bhubaneswar. The event, which runs from January 8 to 10, provides a platform for the Indian diaspora to engage and interact with each other. The theme of this year’s convention is “Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat.” Participants from over 50 countries are expected to attend.
PM Modi will also flag off the inaugural journey of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a special tourist train for the Indian diaspora. The train will depart from Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi and visit key religious and tourist destinations across India for three weeks under the Pravasi Teertha Darshan Yojana.
