India sends 30 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Palestine

India has dispatched 30 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Palestine, reinforcing its commitment to support the region affected by ongoing conflict. This shipment, announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on October 29, includes essential life-saving drugs and anti-cancer medications.

This is the second shipment, following an initial delivery on October 22, which also consisted of 30 tonnes of medical supplies and food items, such as surgical products and high-energy biscuits, sent via the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

Additionally, India recently sent 11 tonnes of medical supplies to Lebanon on October 18, with plans for more aid amid escalating tensions there. India has a long-standing policy of supporting the Palestinian cause, having recognized the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people in 1974, and acknowledging the Palestinian State in 1988.

UNIFIL has also renewed its mandate in Lebanon, emphasizing the need to protect its peacekeepers as violence in the region continues.
